Here are some pictures of our math centers that my students have been working on.
Last week my class did a directed drawing that I got for First Grade Blues Skies. I love doing directed drawings with my students. They always look so adorable! First we practice drawing with a pencil and then we do the final drawing in black marker. It looks really nice when they use a black marker and then color them.
The leprechaun has been visiting our classroom daily. He has left green footprints, sprinkled gold all over the classroom, changed the background on the computers, and made lots of messes in our room. The students wrote how they would catch a leprechaun. We also did a little art project that I purchased from First Grade Fever by Christie on TPT.
On St. Patrick's Day the leprechaun is going to leave us a leprechaun science kit that I purchased from Steve Spangler. I can't wait to do the experiments with my class. It has so many cool experiments in it! I will talk more about this science kit in another post. Here is a picture of my teacher T-shirt that I am going to wear for St. Patrick's Day.
Do you need more math for your students? Here is a little St. Patrick's Day Math packet I created for TPT. It is designed to cover 2nd grade math skills such as 3-digit addition and subtract, mental math, counting money, telling time, word problems, and much more.
Do you do anything special with your students on St. Patrick's Day? I would love to hear your ideas!
