I like to review the concepts I taught my students on a daily basis or otherwise they forget the necessary skills to be successful in second grade. I am able to give an informal assessment to see which students need reteaching and more assistance on the various skills.

My Winter Math Printables are great for homework and extra math practice.
Just in case you did't see my last post, here is a little Penguin Math Freebie for you.
I am doing a little planning for January. My students will be starting 3-digit addition and subtraction in math. Hopefully, they have forgotten how to regroup! Click on the picture of the Penguin Math Freebie for your free copy. Please feel free to share it with your friends or pin it on Pinterest.
I finally got around to taking some pictures of the projects we having been doing in our classroom. We have been busy with some holiday fun. We wrote letters to Santa trying to persuade him to choose them for his reindeer.
I read The Mouse Before Christmas to my students and then we made our own little mouse.
We made these snowman ornaments for gifts to their parents. I put each students' picture in the center. I bought the snowman kits from Oriental Trading Company. This year I wanted a simple gift for them to make for their parents.
Every day my student look forward to finding Frosty our elf. Sometime he leaves treats for the students who follow directions in class. I am the only one in our school that has an elf in the classroom. It is fun to hear the other students ask about our elf and tell me stories about our elf.
Head on over to my TPT store for your Christmas Freebie. It includes missing addends, addition and subtraction with regrouping, 2-step word problem, comparing numbers, identifying verbs, making contractions, and end punctuation.
I am linking up with Amy Lemons at Step into 2nd Grade with Mrs. Lemons to showcase a few of things we have been doing in our classroom.
