I hope you are enjoying your break!  It is going by way too fast!

Grinch and More Christmas Projects

This last week has been a busy one to say the least.  Luckily, tomorrow is my last day and then I can relax.  Today we made the Grinch.  The writing template I downloaded from here.

You can find these adorable tags from Jinglebell Junction.

My student made ornaments for their parents.  They loved using glitter glue and sequins.  I put their school picture in the center.  They are so excited to bring them home.

We wrote letters to Santa.

We read the story Fat Santa.   Molly discovers two feet dangling from the chimney and discovers that Santa is stuck.  She has to help him get unstuck so he can continue his journey.  We practice sequencing the story and  made this project to go with the book.

Elf Eric continues to move around our room.  The students love looking for him in the morning.

I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Christmas Task Cards Freebie

My students love to go around the room and complete the monthly task cards.  Here is a freebie for those who still have school this week.  Luckily, I only have 3 days this week before winter break.

Elf Activities and a Christmas Math Freebie

My class loves seeing what our elf is doing each day.  Today he is driving a car.  I had him up high on a shelf but moved him so I could easily  take his picture.

Yesterday he came to our class by wagon.   He left us elf kisses!  Throughout the day students received kisses if they were quiet and on task.  I should have stopped at the store on my way home today for some more incentives for my kiddos.

We did a writing activity to persuade Santa to make them his elf.

We reviewed adding and subtracting 2-digits with and without regrouping. Click on the picture below for your Christmas riddle printable.

Now I am off to analyze benchmarks, DIBELS, and to look over the ELLA teacher guide so I can administer another test to my students.  I wish I could just teach and not be constantly assessing.

We received a special gift from Santa this week.  Our principal hand delivered it to our room.  The students were so excited to see what was inside it.

Here he our elf watching the students work.  They have been really good since the elf has come to our classroom because they know that the elf goes to the North Pole and reports to Santa.

Our elf, Eric, has changed the background on our computers.  I can't wait to see my students reactions on Monday.

It is raining here in Southern California.  I am in the mood to do some baking.  I found this recipe on the internet and it looks delicious.  I love coconut and chocolate!  Click on the picture for the recipe.
